So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 - The Top 20 Perform Again
So You Think You Can Dance continued this week as four dancers were eliminated and the Top 20 performed again for America's votes.

So show started off with a group routine, danced to "The Beautiful People" (District 78 Remix) by Marilyn Manson, and choreographed by Napoleon & Tabitha. I thought the routine was alright. I liked the part at the end where they were all surrounding Cyrus.

The guest judge this week is Adam Shankman.

Nigel talked about how the US post are issuing stamps for National Dance Day. The stamps will feature on them, legendary choreographers, Isadora Duncan, José Limone, Katherine Dunham, and Bob Fosse.

Lindsay & Cole

Style: Hip-Hop
Song: "Teeth" by Lady Gaga
Choreographer: Christopher Scott

Nigel thought there was good characterization from Cole but thought that Lindsay played too much to the audience instead of playing to Cole. Mary thought the routine was terrific. Adam also thought that Lindsay could have played her character stronger. I thought this was a really weak Hip-Hop routine. There was too much acting in it and not enough dancing for me.

Amelia & Will

Style: Contemporary
Song: "3326" by Olafur Arnalds
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh

The audience seemed to love this. Mary loved it as well and gave them a scream. Adam loved it and gave them a standing ovation. Nigel loved it as well. I think this is the first time I've noticed Will dancing in his style. He's much better than I expected. Amelia was amazing, again. Their lines were so gorgeous and perfect in this. I said last week that Audrey & Matthew were my favourite couple but these two are catching up.

Amber & Nick

Style: Tango
Song: "Tanguera" by Sexteto Mayor
Choreographers: Leonardo Barrionuevo & Miriam Larici

Adam thought it was hot. He really liked Amber in it. He said Nick made Amber looked good. Nigel said that Amber made herself looked good. Mary thought that not only was it a great routine, it was a difficult routine. She said Amber was on fire. She said Nick did some difficult steps and did it well. I thought they were both great. Great routine. Love the Tango. Loved it.

Audrey & Matthew

Style: Jazz
Song: "Hear Me Now" (Dri, Lind & Lukka Mix) by Steed Lord
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh

Nigel loved it. He said Sonya is 2 for 2. He liked the stank step. He said that he thought they could be one of America's favourite couples. Mary loved it. She said it was one of her favourite routines of the night. Adam loved it also. He thought it was Sonya's night. Apparently, Adam agrees with me and thinks that the competition could be Matthew's to lose. I agree with what the judges said about the couple because they pretty much said what I said about them last week. As for the routine itself, I thought it was a great routine by Sonya. She really maximized Audrey's flexibility. Still love this couple. Not much else to say.

Janelle & Dareian

Style: Lyrical Hip-Hop (seriously?)
Song: "My Girl" by The Temptations
Choreographer: Christopher Scott

Adam thought Dareian's characterization was better than Janelle's. He thought Dariean was more into the routine and Janelle was more dancing for the audience. Nigel thought it was an uninspired routine and thinks they could be in trouble. Adam goes over to Nigel and gives me a big kiss on the mouth. But he had his hand over his mouth. Mary thought it was OK. I agree that it wasn't the most amazing routine dance-wise, but I thought the routine was adorable. I much prefer a routine like this to the dentist routine.

Janaya & Brandon

Style: Broadway
Song: "Bring on the Men" from (Jekyl & Hyde: The Gothic Musical Thriller) by Linda Eder
Choreographer: Sean Cheeseman

Adam thought it was great. He thought it was a huge "Step Up" (movie plug) for Brandon. He thought Janaya was great as well. Nigel complimented Sean Cheesman for being able to switch from African Jazz to Broadway. He thought Brandon's character was terrific. He said Janaya really brought something this week that she didn't bring last week and that is that she's a really good performer, too. He liked the flip move that they did. Mary thought it was one of the most entertaining numbers of the night. I thought they were great, as well. Really good characterization and dancing as well.

Eliana & Cyrus

Style: Jive
Song: "I'm Shakin'" by Jack White
Choreographers: Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin

Mary criticized Cyrus' technique but said he was there to support Eliana. She said Eliana's star is still shining, her footwork, her body tick, it was all very clean. Adam said that Eliana worked really hard to make Cyrus look good and make herself look great. Nigel thought Cyrus struggled and that Eliana has a tough job to compensate for Cyrus' lack of technique but she's doing a great job. I actually didn't even notice how bad Cyrus was because I was busy watching how fabulous Eliana was.

Alexa & Daniel

Style: Contemporary
Song: "So Long My Friend" by Yanni
Choreographer: Dee Caspary

Adam thought Dee Caspary choreographed a beautiful routine but he thought the performance was a little bit chilly. Mary and Nigel pretty much agreed with Adam. I agree with the judges. It was a beautifully choreographed routine by Dee Caspary to a beautiful piece of music and I thought they danced it beautifully but facially, there wasn't any emotion there, which made it feel cold.

Tiffany & George

Style: Foxtrot
Song: "I Want To Be Loved By You" by Sinead O'Connor
Choreographers: Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin

Mary thought they did a great job and gave them a scream. She thought their technique was very good. She said Tiffany was living it up there. Adam was madly in love with the routine. He said it brought him back and said that they "Stepped Up" (movie plug). Nigel said that the plugs on the show are disgusting and then said that they would make a great "Opening Act" (Nigel's new show plug). Nigel also enjoyed the routine. He said it made him happy and put a smile on his face. I thought they did a great job, too.

Witney & Chehon

Style: Bollywood
Song: "Tandav Music" by Aatish Kapadia
Choreographer: Nakul Dev Mahajan

Adam loved it. Mary loved it. She gave them a "woohoo." She thought they had good chemistry even though they were apart for a lot of it. Nigel was surprised that Witney could do some of the moves that she did and asked about whether she's done those moves before and she said that she had. Overall, I thought that this could technically be the best Bollywood performance I've seen on the show. They were both fabulous.

Up next were the results. The bottom 6 were Janaya, Alexa, Witney, Nick, Daniel, and Chehon. Witney in the bottom 3 girls? Vote for Witney!

Next, was a performance by the "Step Up Revolution" dancers, including past So You Think You Can Dance contestants, Twitch, Tony Bellissimo, Phillip Chbeeb, and Kathryn McCormick ! I can't wait for this movie to come out! It opens in theatres, Friday, July 27th. I loved Kathryn leading the chair dance part with the girls. Hot! I thought the whole routine was great. Had a party vibe going.

Elimination time!

Witney was saved. Janaya and Alexa were the girls to go home.

Chehon was saved. Nick and Daniel were the guys to go home.

Well, that's it for this week. Hopefully, my favourites are safe next week. See you then!
