SYTYCD Canada Season 3 Ep8 - Top 22 Results + Top 20 Spoilers

Really behind on the results but some spoilers to make up for it!

So You Think You Can Dance Canada continued last week as one guy and one girl were eliminated from the competition.

The Top 22 performed a group routine choreographed by Bill T. Jones. I liked the routine and the dancers did a good job.

The first group of dancers to the stage were Janick & Shavar, Nathalie & Mackenzie, Kirsten & Jera, Charlene & Jeff and Hani (& Shelaina).

Janick & Shavar, Nathalie & Mackenzie, Kirsten & Jera were announced as all safe. Charlene & Jeff was then announced safe and Hani (& Shelaina) were in the bottom 3.

Next group were Amanda & Denys, Danielle & Sebastian, Bree & Edgar, Claudia & Yonni, Julia & Jesse and Kloé & Jonathan.

Amanda & Denys were safe.

Danielle & Sebastian were safe and Bree & Edgar were in the bottom 3.

Kloé & Jonathan were safe and Julia and Jesse were in the bottom 3.

Next were the solos. First up was Contemporary dancer Hani. I thought it was pretty good. He looks like a good dancer.

Next was Hip-Hop dancer Edgar. I wasn't that impressed with it. I haven't been impressed with any of his solos.

Contemporary dancer Jesse was up next. It was a decent solo. Seems like a pretty good dancer.

Next were the girls. First was Contemporary dancer Bree. I thought it was good but the jump at the end looked kind of weak. Maybe it was just the angle but it looked like she got no height on it.

Last but not least was Latin Ballroom dancer Julia. I thought it was really good. I liked it better than what I saw from her in her audition.

Finally, the eliminations.

The guy going home was Hani. Jean-Marc said the decision was not unanimous. Personally, I would have preferred Edgar to go out of these guys but from last night, I would have preferred Jeff to go. Edgar thanked everybody and said that he loves dance and he loves that he can dance on television and loves that dance is even that important right now. He also said people should YouTube him.

The girl going home was Shelaina because she was injured and couldn't continue. Leah implied that Shelaina could come back next year. I really liked Shelaina in her own style so it sucks to have to see her go but I feel like this group is really strong so I don't know who else I would have sent home. Based on last night, maybe Charlene but I feel like she could possibly pull it up next week.

Anyway, here are the spoilers for this week!

I am always disappointed about the judges, very seldom they offer any solid comments and advice during the auditions other than "hot", "terrific", "groove", "situation" and "you know what I mean"! No, I don't know what you meant!!!
The show is meant to display an individual's ability to dance as well as his/her ability to perform, routines choreographed by so called Guru Brown are just steps after steps and no substance, never any solid comments or advice, this goes with Ms Armstrong as well.
Nigel Lythgoe always give a reason why certain competitor is eliminated from the process and yet Jean-Marc has nothing to say! Why!? All you can say is "this decision is not unanimous"; "the person who is going home tonight is Hani". Why is he being sent home? Why not Edgar or Jeff whom I think should be the one.
I watched Jean-Marc and his wife started their amateur and subsequently their professional career way back in the 80's and winning their Ohio Open in later years, certainly he has the ability to dissect the events up to that point and offer a professional opinion or the opinions from the judging panel of the reasons.
I respect Jean-Marc and his wife's dancing ability, especially their Paso is really out of this world, but I am very disappointed about the Canadian version of SYTYCD, the dancers of this season is very talented but the judging, a C-

From what I've read from other people's comments, I think that most of us agree that the Canadian judges are not much more than cheerleaders.

Again, it is really sad Jean-Marc and Tre just put out a sad face and announced who goes home next during the second round of elimination! I really hope someone can tell them to show some talent which they have to tell us WHY. It is such a second grade production.

"Canada, please vote properly", those were the last words from Jessie. His was right, Canada, don't just vote for the person you like, learn to judge their dancing ability as well. Daniel and Sebastian should have been the ones to leave this past week.

Why can't these judges give more real constructive comments to help people to choose. Be extremely critical on the performance, tear it apart please like the Australian judges. Even though they are all dancing out of their elements, they are no excuses, that's why you are choosing the best dancers who can adapt to all genres.

Canada, Sebastian and Danielle should be the ones to go. Their Quick Step was not good enough compare to the rest of the other dancers. Being in the top 10, regardless of the genre of dance, dancers should be at their best to capture the prize.
Judges, please make detail comments and not just everybody is good " from the amount of time they have to learn and practise", that's what the competition is all about isn't it??
Very disappointed.
