Partner: Twitch Boss
Style: Hip-Hop
Choreographers: Napoleon & Tabitha Dumo
Song: "My Chick Bad" by Ludacris
My Thoughts
Lauren is obviously very good at Hip-Hop. She dances like a real Hip-Hop dancer. I really liked the choreography as well.
Partner: Allison Holker
Style: Contemporary
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh
My Thoughts
I didn't really like this as a Contemporary piece. The main thing I didn't like about this was that the emotions felt fake. They were like puppets. I feel that as a Contemporary routine, they need to tone down their acting and make it more real. I actually liked the routine, but I enjoyed it more as a Jazz or Broadway style routine... or maybe a modern routine? I'm not sure if that's right because I'm not exactly sure what modern is but it felt modernish.
Partner: Lauren Gottlieb
Style: Jazz
Choreographer: Tyce DiOrio
Song: "Wasted Time"
My Thoughts
I thought it was a good routine and well danced but I didn't feel anything from it.
Song: "This Woman's Work" by Maxwell
My Thoughts
I love to watch AdéChiké dance Contemporary because he has such great control and his style's so smooth and fluid.
Partner: Kathryn McCormick
Style: Jazz
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh
Song: "Tightrope"
My Thoughts
I loved that. Much better than Sonya's first routine but she had a lot more to work with. The dancing was great and unison was spot on. Not sure if Nigel implied that Kent out-danced Kathryn but if he did then I most definitely disagree with him. Kathryn was perfect in that so Kent would have to have been better than perfect which is impossible by definition of perfection.
Robert Roldan's Solo
Song: Parachutes
Phone #: 1-888-6-BEST-03
Lauren Froderman's Solo
Song: "The Waves" by Elisa
Phone #: 1-888-6-BEST-01
My Thoughts
Lauren's done better solos.
AdéChiké Torbert
Partner: Comfort Fedoke
Style: Lyrical Hip-Hop
Choreographers: Napoleon & Tabitha
Song: "Fallin'" by Alicia Keys
Phone #: 1-888-6-BEST-04
My Thoughts
I kind of wish that there wasn't a story because even though he committed very hard to it, I thought the dancing was too hard hitting and lacked the swagger of Hip-Hop.
Jose Ruiz's Solo
Song: "Give It Up Or Turnit A Loose"
Phone #: 1-888-6-BEST-02
Kent Boyd's Solo
Song: "End Of The Road" (Acapella) by Boyz II Men
Phone #: 1-888-6-BEST-05
Lauren F & Robert
Style: Samba
Choreographer: Dmitry Chaplin
Song: "Drummer Boy" (SYTYCD Remix)
My Thoughts
I don't even have anything to say about this. I'm feeling kind of meh about tonight's show thus far.
AdéChiké & Jose
Style: Paso Doble
Choreographer: Dmitry Chaplin
My Thoughts
I felt like this was a really strange concept. Two matadors and no cape made the routine seem unbalanced to me. I don't think either danced it particularly well but I thought Jose was better than AdéChiké.
Kent & Billy
Partner: Twitch
Style: Stepping
Choreographer: Chuck Maldonado
Song: "Pro Nails"
My Thoughts
OMG, little fangirls, please stop with your screaming, I'm trying to hear the stepping. It was OK from what I could hear of it. Twitch did a good job as a last minute fill-in.
What a disappointing 150th show, especially without Billy there. At least I got to see my favourite All-Stars dance.
