Matt Injured; Replaced By Rhys in Group Routine
Posted by nobody on February 24, 2010

Matt has been injured and will be replaced in tonight's group routine by Rhys Bobridge. From the official website:

Our resident larrikin Matt won't be able to dance in tonight's group routine following an injury that has resulted in a bruised and swollen ankle (peroneal tendon injury). He's currently unable to point or flex his toes without being in agony.

Matt has received medical attention and is currently being treated with ice and is resting. While he won't be able to dance for 48hrs, he still has a DFYL planned (that does not involve pointing or flexing his toes) in case he is in the bottom three.

This bad news however is balanced out by the fact that Rhys (season 1) will be filling in for him in the group routine. Rhys has been Jason Gilkison's assistant and as he knows the routine, he's perfect for the guesting role in tonight's group opener!

Don't forget to watch the stunning opening routine and see which 2 dancers are eliminated in tonight's Live Results show at 8PM.

There doesn't seem to be any definitive answer as to whether he will be able to continue in the competition but lets hope that his injury is not serious and that he will be able to continue.

Poor Matt. I hope he'll recover soon so he can start rehearsing for next week. It doesn't sound as if they think it's serious enough for him to have to pull out but I have my fingers crossed for him anyway. I'm pretty sure he should be safe from the bottom 3, although I guess you never know.
