HALF-A$$ED LIVE BLOG - So You Think You Can Dance continues this week as the Top 10 dance for America's votes.
Noelle & Ryan - Hip-Hop, choreographed by Napoleon & Tabitha.
Judges liked it. Sorry, didn't get the details of what they said.
My Thoughts: I reiterate what I said last week. They need a Hip-Hop judge on the panel because I don't believe that was Hip-Hop. Maybe Pop-Hop.
Ashleigh & Legacy - Contemporary, choreographed by Gary Stuart.
Nigel said they were abused by their choreographer. He said it's a very physical style. He said he gives them credit for the effort they put in.
Mary said, "WOW". She said there were many great moments to latch onto.
Adam said he saw no fear, no stress. He said he thought it was the best ending moment he's seen on this season.
My Thoughts: This style reminds me of
The Battery routine from SYTYCD Australia, except Talia and Charlie danced it way better. They did a decent job, though.
Mollee's Solo
I appreciated that she tried to be musical but I still liked her first solo the best.

Russell's Solo

Kathryn & Nathan - Broadway, choreographed by Spencer Liff
Judges loved it. Nigel said they were lacking a little bit of chemistry and got booed. Other judges loved it.
My Thoughts: I love love love this old style Broadway and they both had the style down. Kathryn looked beautiful, like an actress from classic movies.
Noelle's Solo

Ellenore & Jakob - Quickstep, choreographed by Tony & Melanie.
My Thoughts: Were they the Quickstep champions? I don't think so, but it was a very good effort. I appreciate that they worked really hard on keeping their frames.
Ryan's Solo

Kathryn's Solo
I wanted to love it because she's my favourite but I have to say that I just really liked it.

Mollee & Russell - Lyrical Jazz, choreographed by Mandy Moore.
Nigel thought it was a beautiful choreography. He thought Mollee has grown in a week. He said he's as proud of Russell as his dad is. He said Russell is moving across the stage like a real Contemporary dancer. He likes the partnership.
Mary loves the partnership as well. He said they are her favourite couple tonight.
Adam said some stuff.
Nathan's Solo
That was my favourite solo from Nathan so far.

Noelle & Ryan - Smooth Waltz
Nigel thought they looked like Prince and Princess at the end of a Disney movie ready to fall in love. He said Ryan's flow was beautiful but the neck area could look a little more relaxed.
Mary thought Noelle had a good flow and Ryan dominated that routine.
Adam think that this is a power partnership.
My Thoughts: I thought Noelle was great in this. I kind of agree with Nigel about Ryan.
Ellenore's Solo
Ellenore talks about how her mom moved to New York to help her with her career. Wow, I think dancer parents rank up there with hockey parents in terms of dedication to their kids' careers.

Ashleigh & Legacy - Hip-Hop to "Slow Down", choreographed by Dave Scott.
Nigel didn't feel it.
My Thoughts: The judges hated this but they liked the first routine? OK, it wasn't the best routine but at least it had Hip-Hop dancing in it. Ashleigh is impressing me more and more every week. I now want her to be in the Top 6.
Kathryn & Nathan - Rumba to "Walk On By", choreographed by Tony & Melanie.
Nigel didn't like it. He didn't like how Nathan looked like he was angry. I forgot what he said about Kathryn.
Mary said that the chemistry wasn't there. She said that Nathan had some good technique in parts but also some awkwardness in other parts. She said Kathryn had some very good parts and that one move where she wrapped her leg around Nathan's was just perfection but overall she didn't think it was great.
Adam said that Nathan's a polarizing contestant. He said that Kathryn danced like she was competiting. He said she did a very good job.
My Thoughts: I agree that Nathan had the character wrong. He looked angry rather than suave. Kathryn was gorgeous, though, and danced beautifully. And I noticed that she was looking into his eyes to try and make a connection.
Legacy's Solo to No Air.
I liked how he looked like he was out of control but was hitting every move.

Ellenore & Jakob - Contemporary, choreographed by Sonya Tayeh.
Nigel said that Sonya and Ellenore are probably from the same planet and it was always that they dragged Jakob along with them. He said he's been saying that other routines have been his favourite this season, well, THIS is really is favourite routine.
Mary screamed for them. She said Jakob is one of the best dancers this season and Ellenore is fantastic.
Adam said he got goosebumps. All the judges gave them a standing ovation.
My Thoughts: I thought this routine was a bit overrated by the judges. Jakob has amazing technique and that's what makes all his Contemporary / Jazz routines look amazing. For anybody who reads my blogs regularly knows that I'm not a fan of the sharp movement routines and this was one of those.
Ashleigh's Solo
I really liked it but I was hoping for more because I wanted to like her more after her partner routines.
#: 1-888-TEMPO-09
Mollee & Russell - Jive to "Land Of 1000 Dances", choreographed by Anya & Pasha.
Judges loved it. Mary screamed.
My Thoughts: I thought it was OK. Thought it was overrated by the judges. I'm starting to sense a pattern that maybe the judges love all routines choreographed by previous contestants.
Jakob's Solo
Jakob's technique truly is phenomenal. Speaking of technique, I think Kathryn's technique is greatly underrated. I think her technique is second only to Jakob's. Ellenore's athletically amazing but I don't think her technique is as good as Kathryn's.
